Berry first became aware of perimenopause—the physiological transition preceding menopause—when she experienced symptoms including vaginal dryness, dry eyes, and dry mouth. Initially, she feared these signs might indicate herpes; however, while her physician ruled out that condition, a definitive diagnosis remained elusive.
Berry described this uncertainty as sending her “down a rabbit hole.” Determined to find answers, she initiated her own research. “That launched my journey,” she stated, referring to her realization that perimenopause was the root cause of her discomfort.
While testosterone is commonly perceived as a “male hormone,” women naturally produce it in the ovaries and adrenal glands. Beyond its muscle-building (anabolic) effects, testosterone plays a critical role in bone health, energy regulation, and libido. “I started testosterone,” shared the Academy Award-winning actor.
